How the process works
Contact VAS to discuss your requirements and obtain a quote for service provision (for autologous PRP/PL this is a set fee to include travel, collection, preparation and labelling of product).
Request available date list to be supplied.
VAS Team travels to and performs apheresis at your clinic
You maintain the veterinary client-patient relationship.
For equine services, you provide suitable facilities for safe horse restraint for a 45 minute event (stocks or similar), mild sedation to be available suitable for your patient if required, clippers, scrub solution, spirit, gauze swabs, adhesive tape and vetwrap
We provide the expertise and equipment for the jugular catheterisation and apheresis event.
For regenerative PRP/PL aliquots are separated, labelled and available for immediate use or storage at your centre on the day of collection
A freezer that is monitored daily and keeps a temperature of -20°C or below is required for storage of PL. It is recommended that PL aliquots as they are brittle when frozen are stored in a bubble wrap protector, or polystyrene lined protective box in the freezer to prevent breakage.
Preparation for administration involves defrosting an appropriate dose for the lesion (decided by the attending veterinary surgeon) at room temperature (~22°C), spiking with a sterile needle free injection spike, withdrawing dose using an appropriate sized sterile syringe and administering immediately using aseptic technique into the lesion.
